Fireworks will light up the sky over Ocean City following the boat parade.

July 4: Fourth of July parade, Historic Smithville and Village Greene, 9 a.m. Based on the number of units — more than 170 — scheduled to process through the town of Smithville, this the largest parade of its kind. Up to 10,000 people are expected to line the parade route. HistoricSmithville.com.

July 4: Kite-flying competition at 7 p.m. and live entertainment will be followed by a spectacular boardwalk fireworks display at 9 p.m. near the Music Pier in Ocean City. OceanCityVacation.com

July 4: Hammonton’s Independence Day Parade will take place at 11 a.m. This all-American family tradition is in its 3rd year. Groups, civic organizations, athletic associations, dance troupes and are all part of this event.
