Fireworks will light up the sky over Ocean City following the boat parade.

Fireworks over the ocean? Yes, please!

July 4: Fourth of July parade, Historic Smithville and Village Greene, 9 a.m. Based on the number of units — more than 170 — scheduled to process through the town of Smithville, this the largest parade of its kind. Up to 10,000 people are expected to line the parade route.

July 4: Kite-flying competition at 7 p.m. and live entertainment will be followed by a spectacular boardwalk fireworks display at 9 p.m. near the Music Pier in Ocean City.

July 4: Fireworks Celebrating 4th of July and Borgata’s 15th Birthday, Borgata, 9:20 p.m. Free.

July 4: In addition to their weekly Saturday night Fireworks displays, Tropicana will offer a 4th of July fireworks spectacular at 10 p.m. over the beach and Boardwalk.

July 4: Hammonton’s Independence Day Parade will take place at 11 a.m. This all-American family tradition is in its 3rd year. Groups, civic organizations, athletic associations, dance troupes and are all part of this event. Kids can bring bikes decorated in a patriotic fashion, as well as wagons, scooters and even pets. 10 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton;

July 4: Jersey Girls Do It Right with Patty Blee, Geri Mingori, CiBon, Sunday Grasso, Rosie “O’Reilly” Gazarra and the Tony Mart AllStars; AtlantiCare Concert on the Beach, William Morrow Beach/Municipal Beach Park between Higbee and New Jersey avenues on Bay Avenue in Somers Point. Bring the kids and some beach chairs. 7 p.m. Free.
