Atlantic City Weekly’s Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo is back and better than ever

As much as we love to eat, talk and write about food, once a year we like to put down the pasta and focus on fitness. We call that special day the Atlantic City Weekly Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo, and this year we’ve fattened up on vendors and demonstrations in the name of fitness. Head to the Ocean City Music Pier noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, for all the free fun.

The Expo isn’t your average informational fair. Sponsored by Shore Medical Center, the Expo will not only feature fitness centers, doctors, medical experts, massage therapists and nutritionists at the ready to answer your questions and tell you about their products, it will also offer four hours of incredible free classes like yoga, Zumba and boxing, so you can dip your toes into different fitness styles before spending your hard-earned money to try them out. See our full schedule of classes below.

Plus, before classes begin, the Atlantic City Jazz Band, presented by the South Jersey Jazz Socity, will warm the crowd up with some tunes from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

After your workout, get a free massage at either the Greate Bay Racquet and Fitness Blu Wave booth, Borgata’s Toccare booth or the Hand & Stone booth — or hit them all.

Blood pressure screenings, cardiac risk assessments and glucose and cholesterol screenings will be offered by Shore Medical Center, among other demonstrations that will provide invaluable information on one’s health.

To keep the little ones occupied, a face painter will also set up shop.

“We couldn’t be happier to bring our Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo back to the Music Pier,” says Scott Cronick, director of entertainment publications for the Press of Atlantic City. “This year we’ll have even more demonstrations and vendors, ensuring our best expo yet.”

If you’re interested in taking advantage of the discounts, offers, health screenings and free classes, head out to the Ocean City Music Pier, located at Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk, on Saturday. And — don’t worry — if you become overwhelmed by all the healthfulness the Expo has to offer, you’re within a few steps of a Kohr Bros.
