Kick off a better you at AC Weekly’s Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo

Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo

For those of you who think that a health, wellness and fitness expo is just composed of some random literature and blood pressure checks, you may be pleasantly surprised at all that Atlantic City Weekly’s Health, Well & Fitness Expo will offer.

Taking place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Ocean City Music Pier at Moorlyn and the Boardwalk in O.C., the afternoon expo will be filled with a plethora of free activities, demonstrations, screenings, yoga, zumba, live music, medical experts, speakers — and yes, those blood pressure checks.

For the fitness-minded folks out there, come to join in for some fun exercise classes, such as yoga with Louisa of Tilton Fitness at 12:30 p.m., an abs and plyometrics session with Amy Piccinino of Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness at 1:30 p.m. and Zumba with Erin from Tilton Fitness at 2:10 p.m.

Soothe your muscles after your brief workout with a chair massage sponsored by Greate Bay Racquet & Fitness Club and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

Shore Medical Center — a natural fit for an event such as this — will be on-hand with a variety of offerings, such as Riddhi Desai, CHES, who will be there to discuss the hospital’s Cancer Education and Early Detection Program (CEED), which offers free cancer screenings for uninsured and underinsured people in Atlantic County.

Moreover, Marybeth Beaver, MSN, RN, ANP-BC, will talk at 2 p.m. on the new osteoporosis center at Shore, and Charles V. Roche III, MD, will speak at 3 p.m. on his Shore Physicians Group practice in Ocean City.

Additional representatives from Shore Physicians Group and Shore Urgent Care will be stationed at tables loaded with valuable information on how to keep your heart healthy, stroke awareness, quitting smoking, along with other educational materials and giveaways.

Exhibitors include those with supplements and organic food products, who will be able to discuss their wares.

Children are more than welcome as BodyPaint by Heather will be present to create a wide range of incredible images such as superheroes, butterflies, flowers and more. Who are we kidding? Adults enjoy body paint, too!

There will also be live music by the A.C. Jazz Band, a traditional American jazz group, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lastly, take advantage of a special price on our 50 Bites promotion. Get your pass for the 50 things you must eat in Atlantic City for the discounted rate of $40 — regularly $50 — or two for $70 during the event only.

There’s no better time to take charge of your health than right now — so head to our expo and get all you need to make a fresh start.
