5 places to kick off the NFL Season

  • 0

With summer in the rearview mirror, it’s time to get pumped for the fun things that fall offers, and for many that means getting together on Sunday for NFL football. And though you can watch the games at home, it’s always more fun to make an event out of it by headling to a local pub to cheer on your team. And with the first week of the season kicking off this Sunday, we rounded up a few great spots to check out the action.

FanDuel Sportsbook

at Bally’sKick off the NFL season in style at FanDuel Sportsbook at Bally’s Atlantic City where they offer a state-of-the-art 25 foot wide video wall, two 10 foot wide video walls on both sides and 10 extra video displays, so you’ll never miss any of the action. Sports wagers can be placed at one of the five betting windows or use one of the twenty IGT PlaySports self-serve betting kiosks. Fans must call ahead to reserve a seat for Sunday football games. $50 will guarantee you a seat and food and beverage service will be available throughout the games. Bally’s is located at 1900 Pacific Ave. in Atlantic City. Go to

Ducktown Tavern Easily one of the best sports bars in the area, Ducktown Tavern is one of the top local spots in A.C. to catch any game, and it doesn’t require you to enter a casino to do so. Of course a trip to Ducktown is complete without an order of their wings or tenders, each of which are available in 10 sauce varieties. And with 28 TVs you’ll never miss a moment of the game, no matter which opposing fan you turn around to argue with. Ducktown Tavern is located at 2400 Atlantic Ave. in Atlantic City. Go to

Chickie’s & Pete’s Twenty-four TVs, an incredible selection of craft beers on tap and a kitchen that cranks out Crabfries all day? Sign us up for Sunday football at Chickie’s & Pete’s in Egg Harbor Township. And while you are there, kick your nosh up a notch and order up some of their incredible seafood items, like their Sicilian mussels or Lisa’s Blonde Lobster Pie — an indescribably tasty twist on your standard bar pie, loaded with lobster and cheese. Chickie’s & Pete’s is located at 6055 E. Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township. Go to

Delaney’s Irish Pub Come to Delaney’s Irish Pub and watch your favorite team dominate the competition on one of the 10 TVs they have displayed around the bar. Enjoy a pint of Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale while munching on a pile of their awesome apps such as the brew pub pretzel bites with spicy brown mustard and cheddar cheese sauce for dipping or the very un-Irish Cajun pierogis, which literally spice things up by throwing some Cajun seasonings into what was already an awesome cheese and potato pierogi. With snacks like these, everybody wins. Delaney’s Irish Pub is located at 400 Washington Street, Cape May. Go to

Cattle ’n Clover With summer coming to an end, things are quieting down in Wildwood. Or so you would think. But things are sure to be pretty lively at Cattle N Clover on NFL Sunday, as its huge bar area dotted with 24 TVs offers the prime spot to sip a pint or six while you shout in unison as the Eagles blow a lead in the 4th quarter. They offer a nice mix of pub snacks here, but our pick is the Irish Nachos — homemade kettle chips topped with a creamy cheddar cheese sauce, fresh jersey tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, applewood bacon and sour cream — mmmm. Cattle N Clover is located at 3817 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood. Go to
