If you survived last week, you should be in good shape. Why? Well, we are now five weeks in and if you haven’t got the hang of 50 Bites+ by now there is probably something wrong with you. Seriously folks, it’s just not that hard a concept to understand. You pick a restaurant from the list, bring your lanyard, belly up to the bar and request your bite. That’s it. Surely you can’t still require our assistance … right?
(Audible sigh) OK, fine. For the sake of those of you still struggling to wrap your brains around this whole thing, we will continue to hold your hands for a few more weeks on this culinary adventure. Here’s the plan for this week:
Week five is all about the marina-area casinos. Buckle up, cause we’re hitting all three properties for a total of nine bites. You can do this. We believe in you.
Stop one is Golden Nugget Atlantic City. We head to Chart House for the firecracker shrimp, then pop in at Vic & Anthony’s where the maple-glazed quail wing has returned to 50 Bites after a brief hiatus. From there it’s on to Grotto for a bite of their incredible fried eggplant bruschetta, which we stop to savor for a minute before rushing over to Lillie’s Asian Cuisine for that superb blend of tempura battered cabbage, carrot, shrimp and scallops topped with ponzu and spicy mayo known as “the nugget.”
From Golden Nugget we head to Harrah’s Resort, where three bites reside. First up is Coastal Craft Kitchen + Bar. We quickly down the amazing drago oyster before heading over to Oshi Modern Asian Kitchen for a quick bite of pork and bok choy dumpling. Finally, Veracruz awaits with a mouthwatering carnitos taco that spots pulled pork, charred pineapple, pickled red onion, tomatillo and cilantro. Mmmm …
1. Okatshe’s sake experience. Get to know Japan’s most popular adult beverage at the Joto Sa…
While we would love to stay and knock back an obscene amount of margaritas at Veracruz, we must be strong and move on to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa where Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub sets us up with the final savory bite of our outing, their legendary spicy tuna cracker that returns for the second year in a row.
With just one bite left, it’s only natural that we end things on a sweet note. So off we go to Borgata Baking Company, where the whoopie pie makes for the perfect happy ending to a long day of bites.
